The crude-oil industry artificially raises prices on the very alcohols that could improve combustion in their underperforming and polluting so-called ‘premium’ fuels. Underproduction and sales of highly refined alcohols to the cosmetic industry creates inflated prices for these alcohols. Less refined alcohols produced in greater quantity would cost less and create better, more efficient fuel. But big-oil is set in its ways. Bad big-oil.
