An updated Do-it
From the tower of multi-hued broken tiles set on the big flat-grey, high-fired vitreous Italian forteen-square, is drawn a design of two figures in crackled-white, fey-cream, grey-green, rich browns and a bay-blue fired gloss. To this are added two small face-masks made in ceramics class, up at the Randall Museum on Saturday morning. I joined the heads with their big-nosed beaks and Saxon features to the gridded figures. Simple snapped-jagged rectangles, making bodies set with iron implements, rusty light fixtures and larded with tiled imagination.
