“Golden Castle”, Loch Assynt, Scotland

This pix of a castle ruin in the sun and rain is a little light interlude that I felt captured the essence of the magic to be found in old places.

It also reminds me of Tintagel Castle in Devon, a mysterious place complete with King Arthur Round table legends that strongly affected the imagination of the what you might otherwise think of as the very ‘modern’ designer Colin Fulcher /Barney Bubbles when he visited with his (then) friends Bax, Burge and Bunker in 1962. “We’re in tune with modern times” may have been Barney’s mantra but he had a wealth of histories mysteries at his fingertips too for added depth.
